Stay focus on working to build your business

It is often that you wake up with full intention to get your work done. However, the target is not even reached at the end of the day because of various distractions. Getting distracted is humane but you should not make it as habit. Here are several tips to help you get less distracted and be more productive at work:

Time-boxing method

less distracted working

Try time-boxing method in which you pick the task, setting the time to finish it up, and put it on your to-do-list. It sounds easy. However, you may fail on your first tries because time management is also just as challenging. However, it doesn’t matter because it’s a good start if you want to try time-boxing. When you practicing time-box at work, you will get used to the idea of working more efficiently. You will learn to stick on the rule of your time-box then get less distracted.

Avoid any negative emotions that can distract you from working efficiently. It is easier for negative emotion to affect you rather than the positive one. Negative emotions often seep through head like a virus and make your focus shattered. Negative emotions are considered as integral distractions. When you start having negative emotions, do something to not let it seep through you deeper. For example, you can take a few minutes to take a deep breath or simply drink some waters.

Don’t multi-task

Instead of multi-tasking, it is better for you to focus on on single-tasking. It is more efficient that way because multi-tasking require more concentration and make you easily distracted. Single-tasking is considered more effective and efficient because you will finish one task at the end of the day. Meanwhile with multi-tasking, your focus is everywhere and the risk of not getting your tasks done is higher. At the end of the day, you don’t get anything done at all and your works are still piled up.

Try different things that works for you

There are some people who tend to get distracted by small tasks. They feel like itchy to get their hands on those small tasks while working on their bigger project. Instead of attempting yourself to multi-task small and big projects at the same time, try to focus more on what’s more urgent between the two. You can set a schedule to finish the bigger project first. Then, you can set the next day to finish all small tasks.
